Museums have workrooms. In this museum it looks like this:

Each day of the exhibition I went to the gallery and made a minimum of one "thing". Sometimes I went with an idea of what I might make, but most of the time the ideas came when I was there, standing at the work table looking at what materials I had to work with. |

Day 4 in the studio
"Maybe it's a thing for looking at art with", she said with a hint of uncertainty.
"Maybe this is a place to keep art safe", she said, adding "maybe it's a small white cube gallery".
"Look what I've made!", she said with delight to a gallery visitor, who didn't really know whether she was seriously excited or just being silly.
Day 5 in the studio
"This is a bit weird", she thought, but continued to do what she was doing.
“I tried to make a rug today”.” “Well, it’s not very good, is it?” “I don’t know. Maybe if you squint, it’s alright.” “Maybe you could paint it, you know, with spray paint like the other ones you made.” The rug got successively smaller as she tried to improve things. Now, looking at the photos those first versions don't look so bad. Day 9 in the studio“I just made a small round thing today”, she said. Day 10 in the studio |
"Today I made one of these”, she said brightly.
Day 11 in the studio
She wasn’t really in the mood today, but resigned herself to making something anyway. She found an off-cut of grey carpet material on the floor and tried to see what she could do with it. She snipped away with her little yellow scissors. “Oh! Is that what I am making?”, she mused and proceeded to sew a felted blue and grey thing onto it. Things started to feel better.
