Parasite exhibiting 2022–2024
I have called it ‘parasite exhibiting’, but really its more of a symbiotic relationship, especially because on each occasion I was invited to be part of the exhibition.

I took part in a sashiko mending workshop led by Anna-Maria Saar that was part of this exhibition. I mended the sleeves of my favourite linen shirt, which I had started mending in the previous summer. Now I was able to finish it in the company of other menders. The pale green fabric was used to strengthen the fabric. I experimented with stitches laid side-by-side and then used a more random approach. Once I’d finished, to my delight, Marta offered that my freshly mended shirt could go straight into the exhibition, so I ironed it and put it on a coat hanger. A seamless blurring between artist and workshop participant, everyday clothing and art object. This could be a new model for exhibiting. All you need is a good venue, a well designed exhibition and a generous curator with a ‘congressive' approach to collaboration.
